The Hill-Side & David Hart Named Best New Menswear Designers of America

GQ recently unveiled its latest selections for the 2015 Best New Menswear Designers of America. This year sees a diverse range of brands, two of whom are some in-house favorites — The Hill-Side and David Hart.

We’ve always been fans of The Hill-Side‘s use of colorful and richly textural fabric for everything from shirting, outerwear and sneakers to soft accessories like scarves and ties. We’re very intrigued to see how their playfully Japan-influenced aesthetic would translate in their impending collaboration with GQ and GAP.

David Hart, born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland (this writer’s hometown), has been on a consistent rise with New York Fashion Week presentations that get stronger by the season. For Fall/Winter 2015, Hart was responsible for one of our favorite looks: a Wild West-inspired gentleman’s get-up with a full fur headwear and boldly printed shirting under a red suit.

The remaining two designers chosen by GQ are vintage enthusiasts NSF and streetwear brand Stampd, who couldn’t be more different from each other, let alone from Hart and The Hill-Side.

We are extremely interested to say the least on how these brands’ GAP collections will turn out next fall. Stay tuned and learn more here.
