In the 1930s, Vipp founder Holder Nielsen had a hobby of fiddling around with a metal lathe. This turned into a pet project of making dust bins for his wife’s salon, which then turned into a booming business of manufacturing pedal bins for doctors, dentists and veterinarians. To match the interior of the hospitals of the time, Nielsen chose an off-white cream for his bins, the very first color that came to define the Vipp brand.

Decades later, Vipp offers a lot more than off-white trash cans. From kitchen counters, drawers and tabletop accessories to sinks, the Danish design company’s offering has expanded to cover almost all elements of the home. But despite being almost 80 years old, the brand stays true to its founding core, and this year — the year that Nielsen would have turned 100 years old — it’s returning to its very origins.

To celebrate the founder’s would-be birthday, Vipp releases the Anniversary White collection of bins and other bathroom accessories in the brand’s original off-white. The collection consists of two bins, a toilet brush, toothbrush holder and a soap dispenser, all made of powder-coated steel bodies with stainless steel and rubber details. Prices are as follows:
