Back-to-School: Peas and Corn Lunch Bag

Today is the last day of the round up of my school-related sewing patterns! Today’s pattern is the Rounded Top version of the Peas and Corn Lunch Bag pattern! Starting next week, you’ll be able to link up your own handmade creation from one of the four patterns that was featured this week to be eligible for prizes!

You can receive 20% off all school-related patterns in my shop using coupon codebacktoschool (this includes the Peas and Corn Lunch Bags, Edelweiss Backpack, Promise Ring Backpack, and Creative Maker Supply Cases). Use any of these patterns to sew a bag and enter it into my sewing contest, which will close on September 15th (plenty of time to get your sew on!). More details on that next week.

Today’s project was made using ‘Message in a Bottle’ fabrics by Suzy Ultman for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. You can find this adorable fabric line at Fabric Worm.

This lunchbag was made by Reece of Happy Okapi, and she did a fantastic job of putting together these great nautical prints. The lunch bag is insulated, so Pellon Insul-Fleece was used in the lining fabric. Flex Foam interfacing was used for the exterior fabric.

As you can see, the Edelweiss Backpack and this lunch bag go perfect together. They look great together in the coordinating fabrics, and the addition of the Essex Linen in the backpack makes them great but not overly matchy-matchy. My son had a great time modelling the bags together – we still have a month left until school, so plenty of time for sewing!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this look at my school-related patterns! Don’t forget to grab yours now in my pattern shop using coupon code backtoschool
