Faux Fur Vest WITH LINING Tutorial

This past Sunday I returned from Alt Summit, a fashion design-focused blogging conference where I left feeling encouraged, and inspired to kick my career into high-gear! I am glad the conference came at the beginning of the year, because 2015 has been a rough start (creatively) for me. It’s been hard to find my “groove” getting back into the swing of things after the holidays, so ALT Summit came at the perfect time.

Today I wanted to share with you an add-on to one of my most popular tutorials, the Faux Fur Vest DIY. I posted this tutorial over a year ago and it still gets traffic everyday, especially this time of year! A lot of folks asked (when I posted) if I could show them how to add a lining. I never got around to even think of it until this year (when I was prepping my outfits for ALT). BUT, here it is

INSTRUCTIONS

To start, you’ll need the same supplies from THIS tutorial the same amount of fabric for the lining. I used a fleece-lined satin fabric (for the warmth!) and it actually turned out pretty great!

Follow the instructions below to sew your own faux fur vest with LINING! Two things to note: 1. WS = wrong side, RS = right side; 2. I added a few inches of length to this vest in comparison to this one. Since the band wasn’t added all the way around the vest, it needed a few extra inches added.

ENJOY!
