Shabby Pumpkins and Ornamental Cabbage

I really like all all of the fabric pumpkins I've been seeing around blog land. I wanted to make some that were quick and easy and involved no sewing. I found this great tutorial at Lucy's beautiful blog Craftberry Bush. It was right up my alley, quick, cute and no sew. So I made a few.

In addition to making the pumpkins I tried to make an ornamental cabbage from leftover drop cloth fabric. This was my first attempt and while I think it's kinda cute it needs some tweaking.

Once I work on it and am satisfied with the results I'll make a few more and do a tutorial. I made the pumpkins from burlap and drop cloth scraps, Once I gathered up the fabric I liked the way the stem ruffled, so I frayed the edges and just tied a natural colored hemp twine around the stem.

I'm looking forward to using these in my fall vignettes. They're so simple and fun, I'll mix them in with my other pumpkins, I think they'll add a nice texture.

Thanks for stopping by, I have fall decorating fever now. How about you? I'll be joining these great link ups this week,
