Three Things Thursday: Vaulted Ceilings, Broken Bells, and Coffee

They're the top three things that I love this week. They may be sweet, they may be smart, or they may be just to eat...

► I love the vaulted ceilings in the home of Dana of House*Tweaking. I think I've been on this blog before, but I never realized just how similar the home featured in House*Tweaking is to my home - particularly in the living room. Their living room has a similar size, layout, and architectural detail to my own, and it really makes me think vaulted ceilings are possible in our house. We bought our first house with the hopes that we will love it and be able to stay forever. Being a 1959 ranch house, our plan is update and upgrade the house over the years. I love seeing a preview of what is possible in a home so similar to mine, and what it took to make it happen.

► I fell in love with the song "Holding On For Life" by Broken Bells in December 2013. I listened to a few other songs from their latest album, After the Disco* in 2014, but after I discovered that the entire album is free to Amazon Prime subscribers, I've been listening to it almost daily. It's rare for me to find an album where I like every track, and on top of that, I don't get sick of hearing it. That's how Broken Bell's After the Disco is for me. By the way, Broken Bells is a duo comprised the lead vocalist of The Shins, James Mercer and Brian Burton AKA Danger Mouse; their first album from 2010 isn't too bad, either.

► Finally... I've been loving to explore Society6. I own two posters from the site, which were given to me as Christmas gifts. I was so pleased with the quality of the prints that I decided to open my own store there, using my own original paintings. It is so exciting to see my paintings on throw pillows, clocks, and framed as prints. I also like the mugs - my current favorite is this design by Psychae: But First... Coffee*.
