Find classic and unique jewelry at American Pearl

When I think of pearls I think of classic American icons like Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Lauren Bacall.

Growing up my grandmother and my mom each had gorgeous pearl necklaces and pearl earrings.

I had fake pearl necklaces when I was a young girl – those plastic beaded necklaces you find in the grocery store. It wasn’t until I was about 20 years old when I received for first set of real pearls. My then boyfriend’s cousin gave me a beautiful fresh water pearl chocker necklace for my birthday. I loved it. A few months ago my boss came to work wearing a very pretty pearl ring. She received it as a birthday present. Every time she wore it I would admire it. I liked that it was different and not something you normally see people wearing.

A few weeks ago I was approached by a company called American Pearl. They asked if I would like to review one of their pieces of jewelry. I knew right away that I wanted to review a pearl ring.

3D Printing

Once the customer previews their creation and checks out, American Pearl uses a proprietary 3D printing manufacturing process to generate the gold or silver elements. The entire process generally takes about 3-4 days, as compared to an average of two weeks that it takes to make jewelry using the traditional means of welding pre-existing pieces together.

I knew I wanted a ring so I checked out the various designs. I found one I liked with small diamonds on each side of the pearl. The rest of the band was simple, which is what I wanted. I didn’t want the band to overshadow the beautiful pearl. I went with sterling silver. Other options include platinum, gold and rose gold.

There are several different colors and styles of pearls to choose from. I was tempted to go with the classic white or off white pearl, but American Pearl offers colors I have never seen or heard of before. This was my chance to experience something new and different.

There were so many options – gray, pistachio, black-green, black, gold, blue… the list goes on. I opted for a pearl known as Peacock. The Peacock pearl is a combination of colors including blue, green and other colors depending on how the light catches it.

I could have opted for a different colored stone on the sides. I was tempted to go with emerald but I thought maybe that would be too much green since the pearl has green in it. I stayed with the diamonds.

I couldn’t wait for my ring to arrive. I was actually pleasantly surprised how quickly the ring arrived at my door.

I tried to take a decent picture of my ring (as seen at the bottom of this post) but it doesn’t show how truly spectacular this ring is.

Isn’t this a beautiful ring? I love it! And I’ve received so many compliments on it. It’s not every day you see someone wearing a pearl ring, let alone a pearl with such spectacular color.
