Dive deeper into the vaults with gems like Three Little Bops, I Love to Singa and Rhapsody in Rivets. Let’s go to the symphony with this must-own collection of Musical Masterpieces!

“Music is such an important component of animation. Not only does it set the mood but it also tells the story,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Vice President Family & Animation Marketing. She added, “The Looney Tunes cartoons we chose for this compilation represent some of the very best musically-driven shorts we have in our library. We’ve added some popular favorites and some rarer shorts that are not seen very often. Now Looney Tunes fans can have all their musical favorites together on one disc. If you love music and Looney Tunes, this is a collection you don’t want to miss.”

The collection includes the following episodes;

  • Corny Concerto
  • Page Miss Glory
  • Rabbit of Seville
  • Katnip Kollege
  • One Froggy Evening
  • High Note
  • Rhapsody Rabbit
  • Pigs in a Polka
  • What’s Opera, Doc?
  • Three Little Bops
  • Hillbilly Hare
  • Rhapsody in Rivets
  • Pizzicato Pussycat
  • Back Alley Oproar
  • Nelly’s Folly
  • Holiday Shoestrings
  • I Love to Singa
  • Lights Fantastic

I LOVE the episode I Love to Singa. I actually sing that song often. It’s a song by Cab Callaway.

I love to sing-a
About a moon-a and a June-a and a spring-a,
I love to sing-a,
About a sky of blue-a, and a tea for two-a,
Anything-a with a swing-a, or a “I love you-a,”
I love, I love to sing!

I have seen a majority of these episodes. There are several, such as Holiday Shoestrings (I believe the actual title is Holiday in Shoestrings), that I have never seen before. So for me, this is a fabulous mix of old favorites and new “finds.”

The Rabbit of Seville is a classic. When we were watching the DVD my husband exclaimed “I love this one!” when the episode played.

What’s Opera, Doc? is also a classic musical episode. Fans of Looney Tunes will remember that one with the song “Kill the Wabbit” in it.

Most of the episodes look to be the old ones – the ones I grew up with (I’m 40-something years old).

We have several Looney Tunes DVDs, but most of them feature more recent Looney Tunes episodes. For us (my hubby and I), nothing beats the true classics.

It’s funny that I was able to sing along (in my mind – I wouldn’t dare to sing out loud) many of the songs featured in these shorts. It’s funny how you can remember words to a song even if you haven’t heard it in years.

Even if you are not necessarily a fan of the musical numbers and singing, this is still a great collection for a true Looney Tunes fan.

Look for Looney Tunes Musical Masterpieces where ever movies are sold.

Are you a fan of Looney Tunes? Do you enjoy any specific episode featured on this DVD? Feel free to share your thoughts.
