FACIAL CLEANSERS

My cleansing routine always starts with my face, I love wearing makeup but there is something quite cathartic about getting it off your face at the end of the day, especially when cleansing is followed by a big nourishing and soothing hug from a good facial moisturiser.

Recently I have been exploring facial cleansers, as a creature of habit I feel that I could be denying myself a miracle product or something that is beyond anything I’ve tried, and that is not OK. I’m usually quite happy with a thick foaming cleanser that removes all my makeup from base to eyes and leaves my skin feeling marshmallow soft and squeaky clean, so out of my comfort zone I go to start exploring what’s out there.

001. Morning & Evening
Soap & Glory Face Soap & Clarity, a 3-in-1 daily detox face wash that smoothes cleans and scrubs. Complete with plenty of Vitamin C and Jojoba scrubbing beads this is designed to be a one stop shop, but I find that the tingly / menthol feel I get on my skin is something I DO NOT want near my eyes, at all.

The scrubbing beads are quite large but the formula is not very densely packed so I find I usually get three or four beads in the grape sized dosage that is recommended, not enough to feel as if I’ve scrubbed. I do however like how clean and invigorated my skin feels after using this (always avoiding the eyes), it also looks brighter and firmer which is a plus.

002. Evening
Osmia Organics Luz Enzyme Facial Soap. An actual bar of soap seems so basic, it’s so refreshing though and the organic element appeals to my guilty beauty monster. This pumpkin and tomato infused soap has to be my favourite from this line up though, foaming and gentle but really good at removing makeup and impurities while keeping my skin happy and fresh. I do sometimes get that slightly stripped and taut feeling after using this but it’s gone pretty quickly after an additional rinse, so I’m clearly just greedy for the product. A bonus is that the removes all of my makeup and is particularly good and removing my mascara!

003. Morning
NSPA Melting Cleansing Gel, is the dupe of dupes in melting cleansers. Again with this product I tend to avoid my eyes but not because of the menthol like tingle, rather to avoid wasting product that won’t remove my eye makeup. Definitely a morning product to get the day started and keep skin in check, happy and healthy. I love the idea of starting the day with a face massage so what better product than this?
