MY KIKO COLLECTION

Kiko, a brand that I keep typing as Kiki because that is the name of my cat.

Staying on topic here, a store recently opened near by and I decided to explore what was on offer. The colour and skincare range is quite balanced and the makeup offering is pretty impressive, definitely good to mix and match or for those new who are new to makeup to get to grips with the basics. I did the rounds and managed to walk away with two colour products and an intriguing product from the skincare range.

001. Free Spirit Lips & Cheeks in Hearty Peach, a super soft jumbo crayon that applies a beautiful melba tone to the lips and cheeks. Acting as a lip colour it lasts well and applies very evenly with a flattering velvet matte finish. As a cheek colour it applies like a cream blush, with a hint of tint and radiant finish that compliments skin and wears really well.

The additional bonus of a jumbo sharpener being included did impress me, sometimes the smallest things are forgotten or turned into money makers and it bugs me, so this was a treat!

002. Velvet Touch Creamy Blush Stick in Natural Rose, clearly going for velvety cream textured products, as per every summer. I love colour products that come in a stick, the precise application and simplicity makes using the product even better, pots and pans often tend to waste products or become clunky when travelling but sticks just work so well!

This does ned some warming on the back of the hand before applying directly to the face, or you could risk losing some of the base you just applied, but overall the pigment and soft focus finish of this is perfect. Really workable and buildable colour, the velvet finish ensures lasting wear and defines the cheekbones without looking cakey.

003. Energy Mask, a black detoxifying mask that contains black clays to draw out impurities and toxins while leaving the skin looking radiant and fresh. This is an apply, dry and wash off style mask with a gel like formula. Strange to apply at first but the super cooling and soothing texture is pleasant and makes wearing the mask quite comfortable. The tube is quite small considering the amount needed to apply the ‘uniform layer’ recommended but as it’s affordable this isn’t too big a deal.
