WEEKEND ESSENTIALS #06

I can’t believe it’s spring! Winter took its sweet time, right? I thought I was going to have to wear layers forever and I really hate wearing layers. I’m so excited and so ready for some sunshine and ice lollies and lots of laughter. I know the rain comes in April, but so does the chocolate, the flowers and the plans on how to spend the summer.

The sun really does make all the difference, I think thats why the UK has such a bad rep for being miserable, the weather influences our conversations, wardrobes, news and moods. Anyway, the sun is coming back and while I think of it, Primark have the cutest kitchen accessories to compliment the season, so go check out their colourful and fun range that includes push-pop moulds and ice cream scoops!

I missed out on last weekend, life gets busy, you know the drill. So this week I thought I would fuse the two weekends as if they were one. They went by and came together so quickly, they may as well have been.

Carnations always sound like a boring flower and Baby’s Breath as a name always creeps me out, yet here they are together in harmony, bringing spring into my living space. I am loving having flowers everywhere in the house now that the local Lidl and Waitrose have pretty ones that last in stock again. Helpful tip Lidl tulips are £2!

I was going to start reading Girl Boss this day, I had specifically bought that salted caramel Galaxy bar to accompany me on my trip to boss town. Then my cat started snuggling the book and I got this photo. So I spent the night in bed, with my cat, laughing at this photo while eating chocolate.

My friends are ladies who love to brunch, good god do they love to brunch. One in particular actually named brunch her favourite meal of the day! A couple of years ago a decent restaurant opened around the corner from where I live and it was a revelation, I now spend way too much time at the Lounge, but I now know why everyone loves brunch so much.

Brunch is great for indulging, hangovers, slow Sunday’s, being lazy, slightly boozey chats and large amounts of food. I too, love brunch.

Zara and I have a love hate thing, I hate it because the shop itself is so brain dead and boring, while the clothes are hit and miss for my taste, but I know it will crack out a gem every now and then. When I spotted this graphic white tee I really liked the simplistic design, the silliness reminded me of white t-shirts I used to wear as a teenager so it was a £9.99 winner for me. Sadly when I got home it looked pretty shit on, so I took it back, they have some other designs though so it’s worth a look.
