madewell french knot pointy skimmer and cap toe skimmer.

Hi everyone!

I haven't been ordering much from Madewell lately (and no longer live by a store), so I haven't been able to do many reviews for you all. Luckily a couple wishlisted items finally went on sale plus promo, so I gave them a whirl. Both are their tried-and-true skimmers, which are my favorite flats, hands down. They're just so, so comfortable, the leather never needs breaking in, and the colors are always great classics. Both have all-leather uppers and linings. My Gap flats in a cognac color finally bit the dust with a lovely ginormous black gash right across the top, so I had been hoping to find a replacement for spring. It's a color I wear almost non-stop, as it goes with everything.

The French Knot Pointy Skimmer is a gorgeous cognac/luggage color, very rich and like the product shot. My normal 8.5 is always too snug in Madewell flats (like many of J.Crew's), so I always go up to a size 9. Worked out perfectly with both of them. Love the bow, the leather, the look, everything.

It's a spot-on match for J.Crew's Henna color:

The Cap Toe Skimmer is the same pretty color, with a patent black cap. Super cute and bonus: it's perfect if you tend to scuff all your toes. This one is a definitely size up, as it felt a touch more snug even than the other skimmers. The color is a bit lighter in color than the henna of the other flat, which you can see in the picture at the top of the post. In the product shot, it looks like it would be exactly the same.

Both are a very reasonable price for nicely-made, all-leather shoes, if you can snag your size. They disappear fast in the sale section, but seem to pop up in the mornings in several sizes. Or you could try to find one in a store of course.

Have you tried the Madewell skimmer flat?

Have a fabulous day!
