On a whim

Well, I am stuck in bed today for the second day in a row. I haven't been sick in a while, and as lovely as a lazy day sounds, this isn't quite what I had in mind. :-) I'm just hoping nobody else catches it before the first day of school on Monday. Fingers crossed!

I mentioned a week or two ago that I was trying to decide on my next project. Well, I started on my Briar Rose On a Whim quilt last week (like I mentioned before, shamelessly copying Angela), and am having such a fun time making it! The best part is, several of you have joined me on instagram, using the hashtag #onawhimquilt. It is so great to see all the different blocks and quilts popping up.

My first On a Whim quilt was made from Vintage Modern, so this fabric is really different. It's always so fun to switch things up and try new fabrics. I'm already thinking about making another one out of Happy-go-lucky, what do you think?

I have actually finished my blocks and have sewn them together since I took these photos a few days ago, but don't have any good photos of it yet, so when I have those I'll be sure to post them. Hopefully of everything quilted and bound? We'll see.

Pattern: On a Whim

Fabric: Briar Rose by Heather Ross, Moda Bella solid bleached white (97) and Essex linen in flax

Quilting: Taking suggestions :-) I still don't know how I want to quilt it, but will be quilting it on my machine.

I hope you are getting more sewing done today than I am!
