Cabinet Hardware

Most of you new that I live in 1940’s bungalow right now. We are renting it in hopes of buying a similar style home in the near future to reno. For now, I’m loving my time here. Being a renter is stress free in a lot of ways. But on the flip side, you can’t do everything that you want. So this has caused me to have to become really creative. I’m not a stranger to renting. We rented our last home and I found some major corners to cut when it comes to decorating. One easy trick is hardware. Always change out the hardware because you can change it back in a flash.

Hickory Hardware and Porch.com asked me to create an out of the box way to use hardware. So to make things easy and creative for all of you renters, switch out your hardware! I chose this hardware in matte black. It’s amazing how it will change the look of your cabinets immediately. Another tip is to use hardware to display mugs, cups and other kitchen accessories.

Because my kitchen is so small, I’ve had to be creative with how to display items. Coffee is (of course) very important to me so I created a coffee bar. Right above the bar, I hung a wall piece that I inherited from my uncle. The hooks are small on it and they don’t hold mugs very well so I attached some Hickory Hardware hooks right on the existing hooks to hang my beloved mugs.

One day I’ll give you an entire tour of my kitchen. I’ll even share with you my counter top secret!

For the next several days, check out #outofthebox to see what other bloggers are doing with their hardware.
