THE TREATMENT:
Q-switched Ruby laser Treatment takes place in a medically supervised clinic after a consultation session. At the time of the appointment, the area is cleansed. During the treatment protective goggles are placed over the eyes and if desired, a local anesthetic is given to ensure a comfortable treatment. The laser hand piece glides over the surface of the skin as the laser targets the pigment.

The length of treatment time depends on the number of brown spots being treated. Many patients tolerate the treatment and report the sensation as feeling similar to numerous rubber band snaps. An anti-biotic ointment is applied following the treatment to keep the area moist and then it is covered with a protective dressing.
