Beauty News: Olivia Palermo for Ciaté

Nail brand Ciaté’s creative director for 2015 is Olivia Palermo. That means there are some new ail polish shades coming…

Starting with the packaging, it is still Ciaté’s curves rectangle, but it has a luxury feel – a touch of gold and some pretty box.

The shades are very wearable and for every woman – a red (Hutch), a nude (Sundays) and a coral (Nantucket – a very pretty coral, by the way!).

Hutch is inspired by the red shade Palermo’s mum wore when she was a child. Nantucket, by her favourite holiday destination – and perfect for tanned hands – and Sundays, by her hubby’s caption on his weekly Instagram posts of both of them.

Olivia says she is “such an admirer of Ciaté’s innovation” and that she “enjoyed the creative process immensely”.

Spring/Summer 15 sees the three nail shades and AW15/16 will see more nail colours as well as a lipstick, a smokey eye palette and a contouring compact, which should boost the popular new line of Ciaté makeup.

They are not just pretty – although I don’t really need to stress the good quality of Ciaté polishes – they have Dual Polymer Mesh Lock technology (lasting colour and high-shine), volcanic glass (strength during application) and shellac (protection to natural nails).

I had the change to take a glimpse of them at a press event and they look as good as they sound! It is available now in May and cost £17 each.
