5 Ways to Wear White Loafers

If you’ve been following along on Instagram lately, I’m sure you’ve noticed that there is one pair of shoes I’ve added to my closet this Spring that I can’t stop wearing: white loafers. Gucci loafers have been on my wish list since last Fall, but I have not been able to bring myself to pay the hefty price tag. But when I saw this Sam Edelman pair for about 1/7th of the price…I was sold! They come in tons of color options (and even some cute prints like this snake one!), but my favorite for Spring was the white! And now they even come in a mule version! I’ve gotten tons of questions about them since I started wearing them, so today I thought I would share all the different ways I style I my white loafers.

Dark Denim

I think the most obvious way to wear them is with a pair of dark denim! I love the bit of formality they add to a pretty casual outfit. However, the white color does dress them down just a bit. If you are looking for an even more professional look, I would stick to the black option. But I love how the white contrasts with the deep blue tone. I wore this look to a conference where I wanted to look nice and a little professional, while still remaining casual. But, with a pair of work pants you could easily make these appropriate for the office as well (in any color!).

White Jeans

This is probably my favorite combo because I love the monochromatic look of it! And it makes them so Summer-y! When I first tried them with this outfit, I was unsure if I’d like my white loafers with it or if it would be too much white. But, I couldn’t love the combo more! I paired it with a chambray top to give a bit of a contrast, but still keep the overall look light and casual.

Boyfriend Jeans

Loafers and boyfriend jeans in general have a soft spot in my heart. I feel like they are the perfect definition of “chic mom” and I am obsessed every time I see the two of them paired together. But, I think it is even more chic with white loafers!! The light wash of these boyfriend jeans pairs so well with the white loafers and gives such a laid back vibe that I am totally loving. I will be definitely wearing this combo all Spring and Summer long!

Black Denim

This is the most out-of-the-box combo for me! Honestly, I never would have thought to pair my white loafers with black denim, but it just kind of happened the day I tried on these jeans. I’m typically a lover of soft, romantic styles but this black white combo made me totally feel like I had an “edgy” side…haha! Take that for what it’s worth, but I feel like this combo is the most “chic” of all five!

Bright Colors

I thought I would end with the most fun combo! Bright colors have been slowly making their way into my closet the further we get into Spring months, and I am loving it. As a true neutrals lover, these are definitely out of my comfort zone, but I love how cheery they are and how well the white loafers pair with them. They bring an almost “dressed-up” look to colors that I feel typically look every casual. I love how they contract with this bright yellow! What are your thoughts on white loafers? Would you go for the traditional style or the mule version?
