NAFW 2015 Day 5 – Chiara Ferragni Inspired Blue Tweed Nails
For Day 5 of Nail Art Fashion Week we’re making nail art inspired by a ‘Fashion Icon’. I decided to pay tribute to Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad. At just 28, Chiara is one of the brightest and most influential personas in the fashion world today. She is one of the original fashion bloggers and made a significant contribution to making fashion blogging so popular. It seems so easy right? Wear cool outfits, travel the world with a photographer boyfriend, attend fashion shows and make friends with Karl Lagerfeld. Well, any fashion blogger will tell you it’s certainly not that easy. There’s a huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes.
The Blonde Salad was one of the very first blogs I followed back in 2010 and Chiara was already one of the biggest online stars back then. Now, she is more than just an Internet celebrity, she is a full-on A-lister who sits front row at the coolest fashion shows, parties with Anna Dello Russo and appears on magazine covers. She even has her own shoe line! With a staggering social media following of over 5,000,000 she is also one of the most followed fashion bloggers. So I dedicate today’s manicure to Chiara’s incredible achievements and her ability to make you believe you can live your dream too, if you work hard enough!
This blue tweed manicure is inspired by Chiara’s Chanel outfit worn at the Chanel Fall 2015 presentation. A signature classic tweed fabric in delicate light blue with white rims. The look is simple yet incredibly chic. I added classic white French tips (to represent the origins of this iconic Parisian fashion house) over a tweed pattern. Finally the matte finish highlights the understated chic vibe.
To get the look: follow this tweed nail art tutorial to create the base. Then, using a striping nail art brush, and white French tips. Seal it all with 2-3 coats of a glossy top coat or matte top coat and you’re done!
Used: Picture Polish Swagger, Essie Blanc and Essie Good To Go top coat and striping RuNail brush.
