House Update: New Kitchen Cabinet Doors, and Gold Kitchen Cabinet Hardware Choices

I told you all a while ago (before Christmas) that I had ordered new kitchen cabinet doors. Well, the online experience wasn’t great, and it’s still ongoing. They were 6 weeks late, several were damaged, the order was short two doors, and they didn’t send hardware as ordered. And then sent the wrong replacement hardware. So I’m not going to disclose the name of the vendor because I’m not into negative reviews on line. I would say it’s fine in the end and they’ll make it right, but when you want to pay a lot less this is often what happens. I kind of expected it but hoped it would go better.

Anyway, here are the ones that have arrived. We had glass cut at Lowes and they did a great job for a very reasonable price. My contractor is working on finishing up today. The shelves of course need to be moved to line up with the cabinets, and I need to pick hardware, but I’m thrilled with it so far:

On another note, did you guys see the movie The Intern with Anne Hathaway? I just saw it again last week when I couldn’t sleep. The set design was insanely beautiful. Here is the living room sofa that made me want a chartreuse one years ago, but that I thought of again when channel surfing. This isn’t the best photo ever, and I’m frustrated that this view of the living room apparently isn’t available in the set photoshoots, but you get the idea:

And here’s the one I would buy if I could and had the space: It’s one one of my favorite sofas on Wayfair, and I have a client who bought it in blue and she loves it:
