Take the Plunge

As soon as I found out about the world of educational blogs and Teachers Pay Teachers I was totally hooked! As a first year traveling SLP I didn't have much in the form of materials to start the year out with. I spent HOURS every week scouring facebook, blogs, and TPT for the best and most applicable FREEBIES to use with my students! And I have to admit...there is A LOT out there. However, once I started my full-time job in a school (okay if we are being technical I should say in FOUR schools) I realized that although I loved all the TPT freebies, I wanted to be able to use the activities with more than one group of students and to extend the activities beyond one session....this is when I "took the plunge" and started purchasing well-made TPT products and I am SO HAPPY I finally took the plunge. It's amazing how much time purchasing materials from TPT has saved me...the few dollars I typically spend on a TPT purchase is SO worth the time it saves me in prep/lesson planning! I think the reason I find all of the resources from TPT so useful is because they were all made by other teachers/therapists who are "in the trenches" just like me. They understand the demands of our jobs and the needs of students. I have found that almost every activity can be adapted to be used with several therapy groups and some can be used for every therapy group! I am going to share two of my absolute favorite TPT purchases as well as one of my best selling products to give you a few suggestions in case you are thinking about "taking the TPT plunge!" Also, I wanted to give a big thank you to The Dabbling Speechie for hosting the linky party...make sure you head back to her blog to check out the main page of the LINKY PARTY to see everyone else's favorites!!!

1. Speechy Musing's Interactive Visuals for Guessing Games, Describing, and Inferencing. I use these with my elementary students when we play Jeepers Peepers and Headbanz...it's amazing how much easier a time the kids have when they have these fabulous visuals to help them!

2. The Queen's Speech's Structured Sentence Building. I LOVE using this activity with my first grade students. I have found that "sentence strips" are SO beneficial when working on language and grammar in early elementary school!

3. The last product I want to share with you is one created by yours truly :) I am so proud of my Articulation Bundle! It includes 5 of my best selling TPT products in one massively discounted bundle! The total savings is over 25% and you get 289 pages worth of functional therapy activities that allow you to get a TON of repetitions in for articulation therapy in a fun game format that your students will love! If you don't want all 5 products, don't sweat it...each product is for sale individually in my store! The Articulation Bundle includes the following 5 products from my TPT store: Articulation and Phonemic Awareness Bundle, Articulation UNO Bundle, Yahtzee Like Articulation Game Bundle, No Print Interactive /R/ Articulation Story, No Print Interactive /S/ and /Z/ Articulation Story.
