To say I’m a sports fan is an understatement. You guys who have been around awhile know my undying love for my Cleveland teams and my Carolina teams. And this time of year, for people like me, is awesome because… BASEBALL SEASON IS BACK! WOOP! I. Love. Baseball. But, not just any baseball… I love the Cleveland Indians.
I know, I know, I know. Being a Cleveland fan (of all sports) my entire life has set me up for much suffering and heartache, but, I just don’t know how to not love them. Believe me, I’ve tried. It’s just not possible. I grew up watching games with my dad and going to see them whenever they came to Baltimore to play the Orioles.
Albert Belle, Kenny Lofton, and Jim Thome (#throwbacks, y’all) graced the walls of my childhood room for YEARS.
Also, yes, if you didn’t see on Instagram… I cut my hair! AHH. Lost almost 10 inches – probably more in the back, honestly. Feels so good. More later…
I have not been to a game in YEARS, but I am really, REALLY hoping to get to one this season. There are over 100 chances, after all. Haha! But, even if I can’t get to a game, I will be watching and rooting from the comfort of my home yelling, “THIS IS OUR YEAR!” when I know, in fact, it’s probably not.
AND, when I’m rooting on my team from home, I have to REPRESENT… you know, with my clothes! I will be honest, I have never had much luck finding good, reasonably priced, and cute fan apparel. It’s either cute but way expensive or cheap and ugly. Sad truth. The only Cleveland apparel I still had was way, way, way old and barely fit. Until nowwwwww….. haha!
Fanatics.com to the rescue! They are the largest online retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise and you can literally find ANYTHING you are looking for with your teams logo on there. So, this baseball season, I’m ready!
My husband John thought it would be funny if I pretended I was a baseball player. Of course I obliged, because… why not?! It’s fun!
My husband is totally going to figuratively hate me for this… but he was my test subject for the lighting and he was making fun of my signature blog poses. And, I happened to snap these “test” shots of him poking fun of me. So, I got him back, by placing them on the blog. Bahaha! Also, yes, he is a Braves fan. How an Indians and a Braves fan ever came together in holy matrimony is proof that the Lord works in mysterious ways. Side note: I was a nice wife and got him this Braves shirt from Fanatics when I picked up my Cleveland shirt.
