My Top 5 Ways to Relieve Stress

All of this moving has seriously stressed me out, but in a positive momentous sort of way that feels as much refreshing as it is pressure-inducing. It got me thinking that I’m sure I’m not the only one who deals with that anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach every now and again. It’s just something that happens and we have to deal with it day in and day out, but I thought it might be helpful to share a few of the positive ways that I keep from pulling my own hair out when stress strikes.

My Top 5 Ways to Relieve Stress

Breathe. I know it sounds really basic, but seriously; don’t forget to breathe! Sometimes, when I’m stressed, I feel like I’m holding my breath and everything is just sitting heavily on my shoulders. Deep breaths, taking a moment to collect yourself, and even just stepping outside for fresh air are all great things to do when you feel frazzled. One thing I like to do is pop a mint or one of my favorite RESCUE Pastilles which are naturally formulated as a homeopathic remedy for stress. These little pastilles are incredible for many reasons. They are delicious, 100% naturally formulated with Bach’s Flower Remedies, and refreshing and they force me to take a moment and just relax. Also, all of the RESCUE products were developed by a doctor and they are super easy to find at your nearest Walgreens, CVS, Whole Foods, or Sprouts. I like that I have an excuse to do nothing but sit down and enjoy them, even if just for a few minutes. It really does make a huge difference for me; plus, they are chewy lozenges and taste delicious in the black currant flavor!

Relax. Taking baths are a huge love of mine. I’ve written about them in countless posts featuring so many amazing products like my current favorites from BEING Apothecary and the Pursoma Detox Baths. There are tons of amazing bath products out there. Find one you love and enjoy a 20 minute soak. It can make a HUGE difference in your entire body and I guarantee that it will help decrease both your physical and your mental stress levels.

Work Out. Sometimes, you just have to sweat it out, you know? For me, this is a big one. I use exercise as a stress-reliever more often than for weight loss. It just feels good to work out whether that means running on the treadmill or through your neighborhood, swimming in your pool, or doing an intense weight lifting session at the gym. I always find myself smiling after the first 5 minutes, even when I force myself into it and think I won’t enjoy it. Another thing is to eat well. Studies show that eating a diet rich in whole foods, and lots of water helps reduce stress while eating poorly can actually increase stress levels and anxiety so it pays to eat healthy people!

Take A Mini Escape. Whatever that is to you, whether it’s a stand-up comedy special to get some good laughs in, a good book you’re reading, a gratitude journal, your favorite optimism soundtrack, or the latest film you’ve been wanting to see, it’s important to take time out to do something to make you forget about your current stresses in life, even if it’s only for an hour or two. I’m not saying you should forget about your problems, but distancing yourself from them, temporarily, can help you gain perspective and regain your strength so that you feel ready to handle things that come your way. And you CAN handle them, by the way!

Sleep. Last, but not least, is sleep. Sleep is SO vital to your overall health. Lack of sleep can contribute to not only stress, but weight gain, increase your appetite and cravings for unhealthy foods, affect concentration and even cause more unnecessary irritability. It’s so important to get at least 7-10 hours of sleep and everyone is different so find your happy place and get some Zzz’s!

If stress and anxiety are something you deal with on a day-to-day basis and you want to find a natural way to deal with it, RESCUE products are a great way to keep your zen using all natural floral remedies. They have the pastilles which are what I’ve been using once a day or so (and taste delicious in the black currant flavor!) as well as the pearls and sleep liquid melts which I have not tried yet. After experiencing the pastilles, though, I do think I’ll be looking into the sleep liquid melts for days when my brain just will NOT shut off LOL.

RESCUE products are currently offering a BOGO coupon for their products as well as running a #StressLess sweeps where you can win tons of prizes from BOSE, GoPro and more so be sure to check that out.
