Wide Open Wednesday – Confession # 5….She Let Herself Go

So far the confessions that I’ve made have been pretty lighthearted…. you know – a bed frame in the kitchen and eating sweets while hiding in a parked car are pretty comical.

But, today’s confession is a little raw.

…. I’ve let myself go.

Everyday my hair tends to be in a ponytail.

I wear the least amount of makeup that I can smear on to at least make myself look “awake”.

I choose the tshirt with no stains and jeans.

That’s my daily wardrobe.

I’m putting my foot down. It’s time to beautify!

I’m learning that, I’m not just short changing myself when I don’t fix myself up.

I’m short changing my family, as well.

I want to spend time on the way that I look for my hubby and daughter, too!

I’m not saying that you should be a Fancy Nancy – someone who goes overboard, and is dressed for the Oscars when she goes to Walmart…

No, no, no! That’s just embarrassing.

I’m just saying – find a nice pair of heels, boots, etc… wear a blouse and blazer… cute top with jeans… you know!

I’ve been pinning some ideas on Pinterest… Here are a few of the things I’ve found:

This morning when I woke up, and my feet hit the floor, I decided – today’s the day I’m going to start spending a little time on myself.

It’s not a pompous thing to spend time fixing yourself up… it’s something that those who love you will appreciate!

Honest to goodness, I think I’ve gotten more done around the house today. I feel better, have more energy, and have a better attitude -

It’s all a mindset.

So… no more letting myself go!

I need you to keep me accountable… make sure I stay on it.

There you have it… confession #5… the girl behind the computer has been a tad frumpy lately.
