Trying to Impress Guests and the Weekly Mail

Well hello friends. Happy Friday!

We’ve had company this week so we’ve been busy entertaining them. We rarely have company, but my sweet college roommate and her kiddos braved the STUFT house for a couple days. We’ll see if they ever come back. Ha ha.

We tried our best to show them a good time.

I also tried to impress them by making a batch of the STUFT Silk Superhero muffins.

I think my planned worked and just a short 36 hours later the muffins are all gone. I forgot how good they are. I have to step up my baking game again this summer. I mean doesn’t baking in 90 degree weather sound fun?

Among the many things we did with our friends we also saw Inside Out. It was such a cute movie.

All my runs for the week are done although we have a pretty adventurous hike planned for tomorrow. I managed to add strides at the end of two of my runs and do my two harder runs although I really need to work on not stepping off the darn treadmill. It’s become a really bad habit. My fastest run of the week averaged 7:43 mile pace.

My longest run was this morning outside and it was a slow thirteen miles.

I had a lot going on in my head which was a good thing because it was a bit toasty out there. I feel like the point I’m at in life that I’m trying really hard to climb my way back up a hill. It’s just one of those stages and I have to remember that some journeys are a lot longer than others, but you have to commit and trust the process. I have to remind myself of that every single day.

I’ve heard about all the new colors that Mizuno has out with my favorite Wave Inspire 11 shoes, but the other day I got a surprise package with one of them.

I’m pretty pumped. I do all my long outdoor runs in these.

Speaking of Mizuno, there’s a lot of hype about the awesome new Enigma 5 shoe that’s releasing VERY soon! Before the shoe though comes the feather card (not pictured because I opened it under a ceiling fan- it wasn’t pretty) and then the awesome pillow.

Yep, “light as a feather” and “soft as a pillow”. Even the box is all fancy.

The Enigma 5 is a neutral shoe that provides a smoother, softer ride and is all about soft cushion in a lightweight package.

I usually run in Inspires because they give me that little bit of extra support, but the few runs I’ve had in these have been magnificent. I don’t really notice that they’re that much heavier than the Inspires and they definitely live up to the extra cushion.

I’ll have to get a few more runs in before I share any more thoughts.

On the non-running front I finally went through a couple of mail packages that have built up over the past week or so and thought I’d share some highlights.

I swear I could live off Vega products, but these two are going to become a daily occurrence. The Vega Sport protein already is, but Coach Elizabeth has been wanting me to start taking chlorella daily and recommended the Vega brand.

I’m starting the in the next few days and we’ll see if I feel a difference.

Speaking of Vega though…….

I have a REALLY AWESOME GIVEAWAY coming up, but if you want to order ANY Vega products now, you can use this code:

STUFTMAMA20 – 20% off & Free Shipping – Expires July 15

Cool, huh?

I got these World Peas Snacks and have been using them to add a little crunch to my ginormous lunch salads.

I’m a little behind on laundry to I’ll really be putting this new febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator to the test.

Fingers crossed this little packet does wonders.

But, if it doesn’t I have a really cool new shirt.

Ha ha ha.

The boys and I have been fighting over sharing those SUJA juice samples we were sent. These two are my personal favorites.

All the good stuff.

Lastly, we use coconut oil for everything over here. Lately I’ve even been putting it on my eyelids (Don’t ask). But Nutiva sent us some of their organic coconut oil to sample. I asked for the jar of coconut manna too since that stuff is delicious spread on just about anything.

I use coconut oil in the green muffins at the beginning of this post and swear it’s the magic ingredient. I’ve also been doing the Bulletproof coffee thing here and there lately. If you haven’t done the Bulletproof, it’s fun. Just add a tablespoon of coconut oil to your coffee and blend it up. It’s fun.

It’s time to get ready for a little urban adventure tomorrow. I’m actually a bit nervous.

Hope you have time to slow down this weekend.

Oh and eat some green muffins too.

Have a good one!
