Ethical Fashion – The August Round Up

Ethical fashion is really where it is happening at the moment but with so much going on, I am really struggling to keep up with posting about everything. So I have decided to introduce a new monthly round up feature to give me the opportunity to share with you anything that I think you would love to know about from my favourite ethical fashion blog posts, new collections, offers, discounts and giveaways. It was great to see Ethical Fashion getting some of the TV coverage that it deserves with this fantastic ethical fashion round up by Darren Kennedy on ITV This Morning. It featured some of my favourite brands including Annie Greenabelle, Bibico and Braintree Clothing.

It was also great to read on The Fashion Spot that This Years Copenhagen Fashion Week is all About Sustainability.

Ruby Rocks (another of my favourite ethical fashion brands) has just launched a new jewellery collection in collaboration with Emi Jewellery. To celebrate they are holding a giveaway with the chance to win a statement necklace from the new collection. You can enter on their Facebook page.

There is a fantastic guest post over on City Girl at Heart about Fortress of Inca, an ethical brand creating beautiful handcrafted shoes in Peru. How amazing are these wedges?

There was an interesting post on Op Ed last week discussing the need for etailers to tell consumers where their products are made. I absolutely agree. Websites and social media offer such great opportunity to tell the story about a brand. I also think people are actually starting to care more about where their clothes are made. What do you think?

For any parents out there, you may be starting to think about the children going back to school. Whilst there is now quite a lot of ethical fashion out there to choose from, finding ethically made school uniforms for children can be a little more tricky. Which is why I was really pleased to discover Ecooutfitters. Organic cotton school uniforms are not only a better alternative for the environment but they are also a good way to ensure that your children do not come into contact with any chemical nasties found in school uniforms treated with stain-resistant, wrinkle-resistant coatings.
