Staying at Lisbon Portugal? Get the Full Treatment at the Corinthia Hotel

I recently shared my story on the fabulous Mini Bar theatrical dining experience thanks to the Michelin-starred Portuguese chef Jose Avillez in Portugal. From that point, I’ve received messages requesting for me to share where I stayed while I was in Lisbon. I think this is the proper time to introduce to you my entire account on the superb time I had at the wonderful Corinthia Hotel.

Just meters away from Lisbon’s historic 18th century engineering feat, Aqueduct of the Free Waters, the sleek and modern building that is Corinthia Hotel stands tall priding itself with its excellent vantage point. Taking full advantage of the Lisboa card that I purchased at the Lisbon Portela Airport, I was pleased to discover that Corinthia Hotel is essentially across the street from the Sete Rios metro stop. It was wonderfully convenient which makes it easy as a base for travelers.

I arrived with my luggage in tow to the most professional and friendly staff and thought that checking in was a breeze at the executive club get relations counter. We were welcomed by their attentiveness with the sweetest of my favored drinks, Port wine, one of my cherished discoveries whilst living in Europe. Imagine a wine with fruit, alcohol and sweetness all rolled in one luscious bottle making it the perfect sipper. I also must add that this Port wine (also known as Porto wine) is 20% alcohol. I enjoy it so much because I don’t even taste any alcohol!

During breakfast and moments of downtime, I fancied coming up to their executive club sky lounge. Not only does it have breathtaking 360 degree views of the aqueduct and the surrounding area, it also features all day complimentary sparkling beverages, fresh canapés, delightful sweets, and newspapers for your daily read. This element of paying attention to what their guests need, I feel, is quite the strong trait of Corinthia Hotel Lisbon.

I actually met a guest who flies in to Corinthia Hotel Lisbon yearly for the Thanksgiving holidays just to spend a total of four days of city break at the hotel! This particular guest shared with me that he’s seen all the grand Lisbon sights. Yet, he feels that coming to Corinthia Hotel Lisbon is such a treat that he doesn’t mind spending his annual Thanksgiving holiday here. The executive club sky lounge, after all, offers the most spectacular of views. The cuisine was good also. They serve a wonderful hot and cold breakfast where an exclusive chef makes custom omelets just for you. They provide snacks throughout the day and arrange desserts in the evening. No wonder someone is encouraged to fly to Lisbon for a few days to stay at the Corinthia Hotel and enjoy its amazing amenities!

My favorite part about staying at Corinthia Hotel Lisbon is the spaciousness and quality of their rooms and suites. Meticulously decorated in what seems to be the Lisbon national color scheme, mellow hues of mustard and coral surrounded my opulent space. On top of that, I had my very own private scene of the iconic aqueduct. Talk about luxury, history and culture! Truthfully, I had the best time in Lisbon knowing that their big, fluffy, fine bed was waiting for me on my junior suite when I came home.

Traveling can be quite the lengthy journey. Precisely, there’s nothing like knowing that your destination will be providing the comfort and enjoyment you crave when on holiday. This hotel is there to promise you affluent accommodations at the center of it all. When you are about to check-off Lisbon on your bucket-list, don’t forget to think about Corinthia Hotel Lisbon!
