Friday Swim: Beth Richards Spring Summer 2015

In the run up to summer, some of my Friday Lingerie features will give way to new and exciting lines of swimwear as we all think about the beach, plan our travels, and dream of cocktails mixed up in coconuts and served with straws….

I first wrote about Beth Richards back in 2012 after I saw one of the early collections at Capsule, New York. I immediately noticed parallels with sportswear designer Michelle Watson of MICHI NY, who, like Richards, observed a gap in the market for their unique and preferred style of design and began their own business to successfully bridge that gap.

Beth Richards swimwear is both alluringly stylish and practical. Never one to go by the rule ‘less is more’, I think women are often excited about the level of coverage some of Beth’s styles offer. My favourite piece is probably the most sporty – the long sleeved Caro top inspired by the traditional surf rash guard outfit, branded across the contrast arms.
