Garnier Miracle Skin Cream

Sponsored by Garnier Australia

A survey last year of more than 1500 Styling You readers revealed that more than 40% of have bought and used a BB cream based on my recommendation.

Maybe you were one of them?

We’ve been talking up BB creams here on Styling You for almost three years when Garnier launched the first mass-market BB to the Australian market.

For those still scratching your head (please not your face) about the whole BB phenomenon, a BB cream is essentially a tinted moisturiser with complexion-enhancing benefits. It makes your makeup life easy as it allows you to get a face on quickly and out the door in minutes.

I still wear one most days (for events or occasions, I’ll opt instead for more coverage with a foundation) but what I’ve now been wearing underneath my BB or foundation is this product – Garnier Miracle Skin Cream.

Why would I add another step to my everyday skincare/makeup process?

Because this particular cream better addresses the anti-ageing needs of my skin than simply a BB cream on its own.

It doesn’t trouble me that I’m getting older but the vanity girl in me is happy to work on slowing down how that ageing looks on my skin.

I’ve also found that the combination of Garnier Miracle Skin Cream and the Garnier BB Cream together give me that instant radiance I’m always chasing with my everyday makeup look.

The Miracle Skin Cream begins that glow process as it transforms my skin on contact.

The cream is actually white in colour when squeezed out of the tube. A pea-sized amount dotted around your face will be enough. As you blend it with your fingers, it melts and changes colour, working with the pH levels of your skin to even out your skin tone.

It’s the formula’s encapsulated micro-pigments (invisible in the cream) that bring this instant skin transformation.

Don’t make the mistake I did the first time and blend it in to your fingers first before applying to my face. Yes, it will change colour but it will be to suit the pH levels on the skin of your palms, not your face!

Now, there are some “at home” days when I don’t bother with a BB or foundation on top – and that might be all you need every day. It has an SPF15, offering some sun protection but I would add a SPF 30 or 50 sunscreen as well if you are spending the day outdoors.

While this instant transformation is great, what sets this product apart is that it’s the first anti-ageing skin transformer.

It works over time to help correct the signs of ageing by targeting wrinkles, dark spots, uniformity of skin tone, firmness, radiance and hydration.

The key anti-ageing ingredients are: LHA (lipohydroxy acid – an exfoliant that helps renew skin cells), Pro-Retinol (a derivative of Vitamin A revitalises skin cells for radiance), Vitamin C (to fight against environmental aggressors on skin such as sun, pollution and oxygen), Vitamins B3 (improves skin elasticity, tone and texture) and B5 (stabilises the function barrier of the skin); peptides (moisture-binding agents to plump and hydrate the skin) and ginger (stimulates the skin and increases blood flow).

I’ve been using it every morning for more than a month and I’ve felt those benefits.

My skin was starting from a very good position for my age (thanks to a consistent skincare routine) but I’ve found that this product really helps with hydration and I’ve seen an improvement in the evenness of my skin tone.

The radiance factor is definitely there too – to me that’s probably the most important result and will ensure that this product is one I always keep in my kit.

Remember when I went to Melbourne for a video shoot? One of the products I was being filmed talking about was Garnier Miracle Skin Cream. You can check the resulting video out below. You might see me popping up around YouTube as well.

Is this a product that could fit into your age-defying skincare routine?

Garnier Miracle Skin Cream (RRP $19.95) is available at Woolworths, Coles, Priceline, My Chemist, Big W, Target and selected pharmacies.
