Fabric Flower Tutorial

Welcome to a new year!
My first post of the new year is a tutorial. If you were here a few weeks ago you might remember the post I wrote for my new Christmas stocking I made. (If you didn't get a chance to see the super awesome tutorial, you can find it here DIY Burlap Stocking) I had added this beautiful flower to my stocking as a finishing touch. I am back now with a step-by-step tutorial to show you how it all came together.
I had some brown scrap fabric in my stash so I just cut off a corner.
I then cut out 4 teardrop/clover leaf type shapes in the brown fabric, and I then cut out a much smaller version in the leftover white fabric from my stocking.
Using a hot glue gun I then glued the white piece, just at the tip, and pressed it down on the brown piece.
I then pinched the tip together and placed a small dab of glue in the pinched part. Sorry, that part was hard to get a picture of while I was doing it! I hope it makes sense.
I then laid it out on the stocking to see how I liked it.
I glued all of the 'pinched' parts together at the back.
Here is a view of the front.
Next, add a dab of glue right in the middle,
and press the pearl down in place.
Put a lot of glue on the back of the flower,
and attach to the stocking.
I love how this turned out! This whole project was so much fun because it was a lot of firsts for me, first time making a stocking, first time working with burlap, and first time making a fabric flower!
Thanks for reading and as always, please let me know if you have any questions!
