China Glaze Sunsational Collection Swatches & Review

Some time ago, I finished reviewing all 12 shades in the China Glaze Sunsational Collection.

When other bloggers do ’round-up’ collection posts, I find them very helpful because you can really see which shades are similar. Those kind of posts also help you scratch off a few from your list to save you some money.

I wear my manicures for at least a day (and often longer). During the time I wear them, I take photos and then review them on here individually.

Since I have done in-depth reviews full of swatches in various lighting conditions and bottle shots for every single colour in the China Glaze Sunsational Collection, I whipped up this post in case you’ll find it helpful. Plus when you see all the colours together, it gives you a better sense of the overall personality and theme. (Normally, I don’t have entire collections.)

In this post, for each colour, I share my ‘snapshot’ opinion on it and a photo. Then, if you’re interested in learning more or seeing multiple swatches of it, you can head over to the provided link for the in-depth review.

Which are your favourites from the China Glaze Sunsational Collection?

Note: All the shades in the ‘Cremes’ half were purchased by me. All the shades in the ‘Jellies’ half were provided by China Glaze.

P.S. Stay tuned this week! I have something very special planned for Swatch And Learn readers. If you like nail polish, you’ll be interested!

The China Glaze Sunsational Collection consists of 12 shades split into 2 parts:

China Glaze Sun of a Peach

China Glaze Sun of a Peach (Creme – 2 coats in natural light)

Sun of a Peach was one of my favourites in the collection because I found it to be very flattering. It’s a creamy, pastel, sorbet-like peach that I’m fond of wearing, particularly in the spring and summer.

China Glaze Neon & On & On

China Glaze Neon & On & On (Creme – 3 coats in natural light)

Neon & On & On is a playful bubblegum pink that’s very Barbie-esque. While I enjoyed the colour, the formula was trickier to work with than most of the others in this collection.

China Glaze Bottoms Up

China Glaze Bottoms Up (Creme – 3 coats in natural light)

Bottoms Up is a cool-toned pink with a touch of purple. It’s a super girly shade, and I loved how, after using a shiny top coat, it looks like pink plastic!

China Glaze That’s Shore Bright

China Glaze That’s Shore Bright (Creme – 2 coats in sunlight)

That’s Shore Bright is perfect if you’re a fan of lilac nail polish like I am. You’ll enjoy this one. I loved how it applied smooth and very creamy.

China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle

China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle (Creme – 2 coats in sunlight)

Too Yacht to Handle was another of my favourites from the collection! I feel that aquas and turquoises are especially beautiful in the warmer months because they’re bright, cheerful, and very flattering on many different skin tones. Plus the name is so cheeky!

China Glaze Highlight of My Summer

China Glaze Highlight of My Summer (Creme – 2 coats in natural light)

Highlight of My Summer was also one of my favourites in the collection because while it’s definitely minty and pastel, I found that it looked very neon on me. A pastel neon is something I rarely come across, so it was pretty special to me. And I didn’t find that it pulled the redness out of my hands. (Me no likey Lobster Hands!)

China Glaze Shell-O

China Glaze Shell-o (Jelly – 3 coats in natural light)

Shell-o is such a fun shade, and if you could translate the taste of watermelon into a nail-polish hue, this is the colour that I imagine would be the result! It’s downright juicy, and it’s obviously a summer shade.

China Glaze Heat Index

China Glaze Heat Index (Jelly – 3 coats in natural light)

Heat Index was a really bright pink on me, and I absolutely love wearing pinks like this in the summer! It’s not quite as neon in real life as my camera captured, but it’s still very lively!

China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts

China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts (Jelly – 3 coats in natural light)

You Drive Me Coconuts is a pretty pink with just a touch of purple/fuchsia. It’s fun, and it definitely wakes up your nails!

China Glaze Are You Jelly?

China Glaze Are You Jelly? (Jelly – 3 coats in natural light)

Are You Jelly? is another top pick in the collection because it covered so well, and I think this would be a flattering purple on many different skin tones.

China Glaze Isle See You Later

China Glaze Isle See You Later (Jelly – 4 coats in natural light)

Isle See You Later really was the big disappointment in this collection. While the watery finish could be used in many glitter-sandwich-layering manicures, I wasn’t fond of the extreme sheerness. This one showed the worst Visible Nail Line.

China Glaze Keepin’ It Teal

China Glaze Keepin’ It Teal (Jelly – 3 coats in natural light)

Keepin’ It Teal was ones of the colours I was most looking forward to. I liked it a lot because it’s fresh and bright, but it does show Visible Nail Line.

All of the China Glaze Sunsational Collection nail polishes looked better with a shiny top coat. I wouldn’t recommend you wear them solo.

Overall, I really enjoyed these colours because they definitely reminded me of the warm weather and great memories associated with it.

Which are your top picks? If you could add an additional colour to this collection, what would it be? Do you like ’round-up’ collection posts?
