Piccings Top Spring Fashion Trends for the Southern Hemisphere

Cape Town, South Africa (PRWEB) August 20, 2014

It’s said that Spring is the best time to refresh your wardrobe, and a few signature pieces can really work to update your apparel pronto. This season saw some stylish twists on a few old favorites, as well as some brand spanking new styles set to be bigger than big. From fringes and slick sporty pieces to pleated pants and borrowed boyfriend shirts, this season the catwalks were crawling with the awe-inspiring.

However, just because it’s on the runway doesn’t necessarily mean it will walk its way straight over to your wardrobe. Admiring and actually wearing these trends is a different kettle of fashionable fish altogether. In light of this, Piccing cut through the couture and put together three of their favorite and most wearable Spring trends to try:

1. The High Flying Fringe

Some of us may already be familiar with the fringe, but this season they’re a little fancier and have been incorporated into more formal wear. A fringe on evening attire can add a magical mix of texture, layers and detail to pieces. Designers such as Altuzarra, Miu Miu, and Dior were a few of the fringe frontrunners this season. For those unsure where to start, opt for slightly more subtle tasseled touch to shoes, bikinis, bags and jackets.

2. Wild Words to Live By

Street style has resurfaced with loud and proud logo laden T-shirts, tops and tanks. Not to mention wacky words of wisdom and tongue and cheek slogans that are taking over attire. Typography and text hasn’t been this big since the oversized gems of the 80s. Haute couture houses having their say were: Louis Vuitton, Dior, Erdem, Sister By Sibling and Alexander Wang.

3. Spreading the Lilac Love

Spring also means infusing some pops of pastel into a drab and dull winter wardrobe. Lilac is said to be Spring’s IT color, and lucky for us this pale purple works wonders with all kinds of skin tones. From clothing lines to cosmetic houses, this harmonious hue is set to be pretty huge. Designers who wowed us with soft violet included Prabal Gurung, Wes Gordon and Burberry.

According to Piccing, these three trends seem to be rather significant this Spring and will have some serious staying power. Plus, as an added bonus, they’re easily available and affordable online at places like http://www.piccing.com.
