The Deal (Off-Campus #1) by Elle Kennedy

What it’s about She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy...Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

...and it’s going to be oh so good.
All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Crista’s Review
5 (I stayed up all night to finish it) Stars!!
Wow. Wow. Wow.
It takes a lot to reduce me to this type of an intro to a review, but this book has me giddy with butterflies in my stomach and a silly smile on my face!
As a fan of the New Adult genre, I am here to say, this is THE BEST new adult novel of 2015 so far. This book was worth sacrificing sleep, food, and my favorite television show for. This book has it all, and this author did everything right! Usually I finish a book with feelings of “I wish this would’ve been done differently…etc.”. Well, not this time! This book was as close to perfection as I’ve read in a long while.
Hannah thinks she is love with Justin, her college’s star quarterback, and she hates Garrett, the captain of her college’s hockey team. She pretends to date Garrett in order to catch Justin’s attention, but somehow in the midst of pretending, actually begins to care for Garrett.
This is a quintessential enemies-to-lovers story that I absolutely fell in love with. Hannah and Garrett were so much fun together. They had genuine chemistry, but also had side-splittingly funny banter and argued beautifully. Hannah was not falling for Garrett’s charm and was convinced that she was not going to be one of Garrett’s conquests.
However, what happens when all that you believed to be true about the guy you’ve decided to hate turns out to be false? What happens when you realize that there is so much more to your “enemy” that you originally gave him credit for? The answer to this question can be summed up with this answer: MAGIC HAPPENS.
The Deal wove a spell around me and made my entire world disappear. I can only explain this as a magical reading experience. It is a rare and treasured experience when time ceases to exist as the characters and story truly sweep you away. I escaped into the world of Hannah and Garrett, of hot hockey players, and talented vocalists. I laughed, I cried, and I honestly did not want this book to end.
The ending is so unbelievably beautiful that it made me want to stand up and cheer (and had it not been 2am when I finished this book, I might have!!). Now I am left, the day after, with a sense of sweet satisfaction that immediately follows the experience of reading a special book.
There is not one athlete in this book that I don’t care for! My dream would be to get books written for each and every one of them, and I am begging you Elle Kennedy: Please keep these books coming!!!
