The Friend Zone (Game On #2) by Kristen Callihan

What it’s about Gray doesn’t make friends with women. He has sex with them. Until Ivy.
The last thing star tight-end Gray Grayson wants to do is drive his agent’s daughter’s bubblegum pink car. But he needs the wheels and she’s studying abroad. Something he explains when she sends him an irate text to let him know exactly how much pain she’ll put him in if he crashes her beloved ride. Before he knows it, Ivy Mackenzie has become his best texting bud. But then Ivy comes home and everything goes haywire. Because the only thing Gray can think of is being with Ivy.
Ivy doesn’t have sex with friends. Especially not with a certain football player. No matter how hot he makes her…
Gray drives Ivy crazy. He’s irreverent, sex on a stick, and completely off limits. Because, Ivy has one golden rule: never get involved with one of her father’s clients. A rule that’s proving harder to keep now that Gray is doing his best to seduce her. Her best friend is fast becoming the most irresistible guy she’s ever met.
Which means Gray is going to have to use all his skills to get himself out of the friend zone and into Ivy’s heart. Game on.

Crista’s Review 4.5 Stars!
What is better for a hopeless romantic like me than to read a fabulous “friends to lovers” book? The answer is…nothing! The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan is the second book in her Game On series and is just as good as the brilliant The Hook Up.
This book begins with a series of text messages that are exchanged between Ivy and Gray. These text messages are hilarious and set the stage for the friendship that becomes vital to both Gray and Ivy. The witty banter that was so unique in The Hook Up is back in The Friend Zone, and this book is 309 page of pure fun.
Gray Grayson is a player to the nth degree. He has a long line on conquests and has never allowed himself to get emotionally attached. The friendship that he has with Ivy sneaks up on him and she becomes as important to him as anything else in his life. The problem with this is that Gray is attracted to Ivy and vice versa.
The conflict of this book surrounds the age-old question: “Can men and women who are attracted to one another be exclusively friends?” In the case of Ivy and Gray, the answer was a resounding “no!” It takes both Gray and Ivy time to put their friendship on the line, and have the courage to take the chance at what they both crave from one another….commitment, love, and sex!
Once these two amazing people finally become a couple, this book firmly launched onto my favorites list. There was a tiny plot arc that came out of nowhere, and seemed unnecessary to the story, but even that did not impact my overall love for the story.
The epilogue was such a treat! Getting to see this couple flourish and find lasting happiness is what I love most about reading romance. When authors take the time to write a fabulous epilogue, it can make a lasting impression, and that is exactly what Ms. Callihan manages to do with this epilogue.
The Friend Zone is an amazing read and both Game On books are truly must-read books.
