The number one fear when wearing high-waist denim is that they’ll look like mom jeans. To avoid this, look for jeans that have a bit of stretch to them. A darker rinse also helps.
Monochromatic dressing, aka wearing the same color from top to bottom, is an instant slim down. Since my jeans are blue, I went with a navy color scheme. But you can do the same with white or black denim.
A high neck top lengthens the torso, which helps since you’re cutting off the body at the belly-button with your denim. I went with a tie-neck blouse then added a collar necklace to bring the eyes towards the upper part of my body.
With a high rise skinny jean, it’s most flattering to have it hit either just at the ankle or right above. Go for a cropped style, head to the tailor or simply cuff your denim like I did. To look even taller and leaner, add some height with your shoes by slipping into a heel or comfy wedge sandals.
I hope these tips help you next time you throw on a pair of high rise skinny jeans!
