woops

i have been lazy, and there’s really not much to write about lately. here are some random tidbits of life:

i went to the first class of the “job skills” stuff last friday. it was absolutely dull. i’m sure it is helpful for some but for me i just wanted to go back home and cuddle my baby. the teacher was very non-interactive, something i hate. she walked back and forth the entire class, talking, asking questions but quickly adding “don’t answer out loud” or “don’t answer this but…” it just felt like she was trying to shove in as much as possible in 3 hours without really stopping to let us speak as well. i guess that’s all they really care about, pushing the material. that’s not a class in my opinion. the class was basically just a bunch of material on how to like yourself better. stuff i’ve already had to go though, as someone who’s mother stomped on her self-esteem as much as possible, and someone who had bullies terrorizing her at every turn. my self-esteem is not great, obviously. few people have great self-esteem. but i’ve learned how to think better of myself. this class was kind of a waste of time for me.

i am hoping next friday will be better.

currently we are doing our best to avoid town. its the week of fiddle fest (or the old fiddler’s convention, depending on who you’re talking to.. they don’t seem to know what its called anymore). our tiny town is jam packed with people from all over the world, who enjoy blue grass and music of that same ilk. rumor has it someone from duck dynasty is there, we might go take a peek but usually we do our best to stay away.

i’m counting down the days until vincent’s first birthday and its making me all emotional. scared, and excited, and all kinds of other emotions that i can’t even put a name to. he stood up from the floor last night while we were visiting some friends. this has all gone SO FAST! where did the tiny squeaky baby person go?!?!

MY birthday is coming up as well (august 24th) and i will be 32! i haven’t even been thinking about it because i’ve been so focused on vincent’s birthday party. i seriously forgot about it until i was filling out the monthly wipe off board calendar in our living room!

i am revamping some stuff on my website, hopefully to encourage advertisers and other things. i could really use the extra cash and i do enjoy blogging (when i have stuff to talk about). i wish i could figure out how to keep my blog as personal as possible but still have the major hits and interaction that the big name blogs have. i notice a lot of the popular ones are really not personal anymore. instead they are mostly product review blogs or couponing. i much prefer to talk about my life (but i’m not opposed to adding in some other content as well).
