The alternating of silver and gold help create the drama. I started with a gold tablecloth, then silver chargers, gold plates (Pier One), and then a small silver plate (Sur La Table). No consideration was received. These are part of my collection.

The little details matter and the alternating continues: silver branches set upon gold mesh; solid gold napkins layered with silver sheer napkins; names are written with a silver marker upon gold trimmed place cards.

Gold candles are placed upon silver mercury glass candle holders, while silver candles are placed upon gold holders.
