Resolutions

I’m already feeling fantastic about this new year! I’ve got big aspirations and I know our family is going to just bloom and become a reflection of God’s love this year. Here’s a list of my “resolutions,” or rather, things I’d like to improve upon this year.

  • I’m starting this year at 204lbs, thanks to an awesome carb-fest New Year’s Eve. My goal for 2014 is to REACH MY GOAL WEIGHT of 125lb. According to the Reddit /r/keto calculator, if I stay in ketosis I should be able to achieve that. They even provided an awesome chart to show my projected weight loss.
  • This year I am going to be the mother God designed me to be. I’m going to get in the Word, study it, and live it out. I’m going to do this by constantly and consistently work towards Bible memorization. I want to a Bible study every day, and I think I want to focus on the Beatitudes in the Sermon on the Mount as well as the Fruits of the Spirit in Galations.
  • I want to control my temper and yell less at my family. This will become easier as I consistently work towards being more with God.
  • I want our family to be consistent and dedicated to staying on our budget and getting out of debt. While I don’t know that we can completely achieve debt-free status (thanks, student loans!) I have hope that we can potentially have positive net worth by the end of the year.
  • More blogging! And real blogging! I’m going to maintain this blog with a clear direction. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mommy. I underwent LAP BAND surgery in 2013, and will be blogging about my life with my children, homesteading and losing weight. While these topics seem a bit diverse, they all fit into the general idea of becoming more self-sufficient and growing our homestead in 2014. More on that…
  • This year I want to complete our “phase 1″ of self-sufficiency. Our Phase 1 includes bees, a couple chickens, and rabbits, as well as raised garden beds to start our garden.
  • Later in the year, I want to start pre-school with Alden. She’ll be turning 3 in August, so I plan to start the Sonlight P3/4 curriculum.

I think those cover the basics of my resolutions: health & weight loss, faith, family, blogging and our homestead. I will check in monthly and update on progress, and most likely do a first of the month blog for what I hope to achieve each month. Thanks for your readership in 2013, and I hope to grow even more with you all in 2014!
