Do I need a rug?

Fall has arrived. The days are getting shorter and the nights are now dark enough for lit candles. There’s even been a few mornings last week, where I had to button up my coat when biking to work. The sun is still out most days, but the wind is getting colder. It will soon be time to get all the woollen blankets and sheepskins out of storage.

I recently moved all the furniture in the living room around and I have been thinking about getting a rug for the sofa corner. I love my beautiful wooden floors and therefore I have always hesitated about covering them up. But recently I have been giving it a lot of thought. As I have never had a rug before I am curious to know, what your experiences are? Do they attract a lot of dust etc.? How often do you vacuum yours? Please leave a comment if you want to share – I would love to get your two cents before I make a decision. This is what the room looks like now without a rug.

As rug goes I want a nice quality one. I have my eye on two so far but am still looking for options. I al looking for a light grey one as it will fit the palette in the living room. I have had the longest crush on the Bjorn Rug from Designhouse Stockholm. I love the effect of the different greys mixed together and the leather trims are to die for.

The second contender is from the new Danish brand SemiBasic. I have seen a sneak peek of their brand new light grey version so new, that it’s not up in their shop yet – and therefore I have to show you pictures of the dark grey version. Also gorgeous – but light grey is my colour. I have seen this in person and am impressed with the quality – the wool is so soft. Also the price is really fair – and we do love that, don’t we!

Are there any other good rugs out there I need to know about? Please leave a comment if you know of one I need to see – and also I would love to hear your experiences with having a rug before I make up my mind. Thank you guys – have a great week x
