Sneakers VS. Heels
There is one thing – actually two – we need to talk about. First is, that I catch at myself again and again how late I jump on trends and the latter is, what kind of shoe needs to be on a woman’s feet. Sneakers vs. Heels.
Summer 2013 – The sportswear trend conquers the fashion world. Fashion editors, buyers and it girls refuse to totter from one fashion show to the other on 12cm heels – instead comfortable sneakers get spotted on the feet of fashionistas in New York, London, Mailand and Paris. The sporty streetstyles go around through the world wide web – the hype takes its course. I’m not amazed. Trading my pretty heels for comfortable kicks? No, thanks. The trend will probably disappear as fast as it arose. Well, not a bit of it! Sneakers in every magazine, on every blog, around every corner. A true invasion. Nike, Adidas & Co. must have made a tenfold revenue. And then the peak in January 2014. Karl Lagerfeld sent his models on the catwalk in sneakers. I’m still pro heels.
Spring 2015 – Almost two years passed by. I’m hooked. So damn hooked. I wear sneakers and I LOVE it. My feet love it. Sneakers to a boho look – sneakers to a complete denim outfit – and now sneakers to a typical Michèle-layering-casual-look. The sneakers invasion continues. And not only because they are super duper comfy and ultra practical for notorious snooze-pressers who have to do a sprint to reach the bus in time almost daily (among others, I mean myself), but also because they look pretty cool and have this kinda I-don’t-give-a-fuck-touch. Just pure coolness.
So, who’s the winner at the end? Sneakers or heels? Half a year ago I was a 100% team heels supporter. But now… my rock-solid conviction crumbles. Sneakers? Heels? Sneakers? Heels? Why actually deciding? Eventually there is enough space in the shoe closet – at least in mine – for both. And who wants to wear chunky sneakers to a sexy dress?
Es gibt da so eine Sache – eigentlich zwei – über die wir reden müssen. Die erste wäre, dass ich mich immer wieder dabei ertappe, wie spät ich Trends immer mitmache und letztere, was denn nun eigentlich an die Füsse einer Frau gehört. Sneakers vs. Heels.
Sommer 2013 – Der Sportswear Trend erobert die Modewelt. Statt dass die Moderedakteurinnen, Einkäuferinnen und It-Girls auf 12cm Absätzen von einer Fashion Show zur nächsten zu stöckeln, werden bequeme Sneakers an den Füssen der Fashionistas in New York, London, Mailand und Paris gesichtet. Die sportlichen Streetstyles landen im Netz – der Hype nimmt seinen Lauf. Ich bin nicht begeistert. Meine hübschen Heels gegen bequeme Treter eintauschen? Nein, danke. Der Trend geht bestimmt so schnell, wie er gekommen ist. Denkste. Sneakers in jedem Magazin, auf jedem Blog, um jede Ecke. Eine wahre Invasion. Nike, Adidas & Co. müssen ihren Umsatz verzehnfacht haben. Und dann der Höhepunkt im Januar 2014. Karl Lagerfeld lässt seine Models in Sneakers über den Laufsteg stolzieren. Ich bin noch immer pro Heels.
Frühjahr 2015 – Fast zwei Jahre später. Es hat mich erwischt – aber voll! Ich trage Sneakers und ich LIEBE es. Meine Füsse lieben es. Sneakers zum Boho Look – Sneakers zum kompletten Denim Outfit – und jetzt auch noch Sneakers zum typischem Michèle-Zwiebel-Alltags-Look. Die Sneaker-Invasion geht weiter. Und das nicht nur, weil sie saubequem und ultrapraktisch für notorische Schlummern-Drückerinnen sind, die fast täglich einen Spurt zum Bus hinlegen müssen (damit bin unter anderem ich gemeint), sondern auch, weil sie halt doch ziemlich cool aussehen und einem diesen gewissen I-don’t-give-a-fuck-Touch verleihen. Pure Coolness halt.
Also, was den nun? Sneakers oder Heels? Vor einem halben Jahr, wäre ich überzogener Team Heels Anhänger gewesen. Aber heute… meine damals so felsenfeste Überzeugung bröckelt. Sneakers? Heels? Sneakers? Heels? Warum eigentlich entscheiden? Schliesslich hat’s im Schuhschrank – zumindest in meinem – genug Platz für beides und wer will zum sexy Kleidchen schon klobige Sportschuhe tragen?
