For the Love of Coffee

You can’t beat a steaming cup of coffee on a cold day. Grabbing my winter coat, blowing off the cobwebs and then planting my bum down in a cosy coffee shop is one of my favourite things to do. Throw a good friend into the mix and that, to me, makes for a perfect day

After moving away from Newcastle, I miss seeing my friends so frequently, along with our wonderful coffee dates. In fact, it kind of makes me sad when I pass the Starbucks in my new town. Many hours have been spent laughing, mopping up tears and solving life’s problems over those familiar trademark mugs…..

…..Today I had to go back to the hospital and decided that a coffee date with my little man was in order when I came out.

I opted for a simple Americano and treated myself to a bit of cream instead of milk/soya milk, whereas little ‘un went for his favourite….a babyccino!

Sometimes Leo cries when he’s hungry, only to break out into a gorgeous cheeky smile when I present him with boob or bottle. He melts my heart every day

When Leo had settled after his feed, I savoured my (slightly cold by now) coffee whilst writing letters. As a child, I had several pen pals – my cousin, people I’d met on holiday and also a lovely girl called Judith, who I wrote to through a pen pal scheme….I never met her but we wrote to each other for years! I know texts and emails are the love letters of today but you just can’t beat a hand written letter can you?

On that note and with midnight approaching, I’ll bid you goodnight and see you tomorrow

xoxo
