I’m so excited to bring you this body chain DIY this week, because it is literally the easiest DIY I have ever posted (and it also marks the beginning of many more DIY’s to come). All you need is a little chain, a few jump rings and needlenose pliars. I have the measurements for the one I made below, which is fairly standard shape to fit most bodies, but feel free to add additional tiers, beading, or charms to personalize yours.
I measured 6 lengths of chain in various sizes from very delicate to chunky. The measurements I used are:
Front Length: 5″
Back Length: 12.5″
Neck Wrap Pieces: 2 x 14″
Waist Wrap Pieces: 2 x 18″ (feel free to go up to 20″ for more room and drape)
See image below to reference where each chain attaches- the 2 neck pieces form a circle connecting to the top of the front and back chains, and the 2 waist chains form a circle connecting to the bottom. You should be able to complete this with only 4 jump rings.
Then you simply slip over your head and go! I wore it out Saturday night to a friend’s fight night party over a long cutout gown- eventually I will get some better pictures up but for now a selfie will do the trick. I can’t wait to wear it in Mexico this weekend – and to hear back from all of you that attempt this DIY! Let me know how it goes!
