Just the Beginning

My mind is in a rumble of so many thoughts right now, so allow me to pour some out to you, even if it doesn’t completely make coherent sense.

At 25 years old, I often find myself thinking about my life and how it’s come to be. 5 years ago, I never would have thought things would turn out this way. And 5 years from now, I can only imagine how different and completely life changing it will be. Do you guys ever think about that? 5 years ago, what were you doing, and what are you doing now? Isn’t it crazy how much 5 years of experiences make you a completely different person? Isn’t it crazy how the troubles we had 5 years ago are mere memories to laugh or shake our heads about now?

I often hear my friends talk about how our 20s are the supposed “prime” of our lives, yet they find disappointment in where they are. They dream of accomplishing so much more, and feel like time (or luck) is not on their side. Well, to everyone who feels that way, Im no life coach, but I do believe that each person is different and that there are no rules in life. At 25, you could be at your prime, or you could simply be at the beginning. Who’s rushing anyway? While it’s definitely great to be goal oriented and to have a vision of where you want to be, sometimes it’s nice to take a breather and enjoy the ride to the destination.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life will definitely throw curve balls your way, and you need to do the adjusting. Also that no matter how these curve balls affect you, life goes on, even if you don’t. So you shouldn’t waste your time over thinking it. If the ride gets bumpy, happy or if you’re merely coasting through your 20s, take it all in, see the beauty in every detail, and remember that this is just the beginning of a destination to come 5 years later.

Just a random thought to start this season. Happy Summer, everyone!
