Take Off to Touchdown

I’m leaaaaving on a jet plane! Yes, again! Tomorrow, I’m heading to Vancouver, Canada for 2 full weeks, because my partner in crime, Jack, is gonna move there for a few months. She’s leaving me!!!! (If you follow me on snapchat (@kryzzzie), this is the reason why I’ve taken several photos of her and captioned her “The Leaver” lol). Anyway, since tomorrow’s journey is going to be a long one, I thought I’d share a few tips on traveling, for any one else who is planning to jet off this summer. Enjoy!

1. Preflight

It’s crucial that you plan what to wear and bring with you on the plane.

Wear: Nothing that crumples easy, or rides up your crotch, or is insanely uncomfortable. Plane rides can be a bit stifling, so you should be in something that you can breathe easily in. The less fidgeting, the better. Stay away from silk too, or fabrics that cause static. That can be quite annoying!

Bring: I always bring my own pillow and blanket, just because I’m a clean freak, and I dont think the ones they provide are clean enough. I also store a few ebooks in my iPad and a few snacks, just in case I don’t like what they have in the airport or on the plane. My laptop and camera are always in my handcarry luggage, in case I need to work at any given time.

2. Inflight

Bring SUNSCREEN. You are so much closer to the sun while up in the air, and that means, you are so much closer to all the UV rays, especially if you sit by the window. Cover up!

There is always the possibility of you sitting next to a baby that won’t stop crying, friends that won’t stop talking, tourists that won’t stop taking photos, or people who won’t stop snoring. Best option? EARPLUGS and EYEMASK.

For long haul flights, I also like to bring tons of MOISTURIZERS or masks to keep myself hydrated while up in the air. That way, when I land and I need to go straight to work, I don’t look too stressed out. Don’t wear much make up because that will only cake up and make you look tired.

Again, I’m a clean freak and I know that airplanes are insane breeding grounds for dirt and bacteria. So I always bring a SCARF or SHAWL with me to cover the seat or my face. Sounds kind of annoying, but I always do it! You never know who sat there before you and what they did. Better safe than sorry!

3. Landing

To instantly freshen up before landing, I spritz FACIAL MIST on my face, DRY SHAMPOO on my hair and pop on a fresh coat of MASCARA. These simple things instantly brighten up your face. People will never guess that you just came from a long flight!

Hope these simple tips can be of help on your next destination getaway! Happy Summer and see you in Vancouver!
