Sweet DIY Valentine’s Gift

If you are looking for a thoughtful and sweet way to show people in your life how much you love them, you might want to give this quick and easy DIY a try. It would be perfect for parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Just change out the word to fit your needs.

I bought this plain piece of wood at Hobby Lobby. Already cut, sanded and ready to paint. I chose a color to match my Mother-in-Law's home and let the kids paint the wood. When it dried I took sandpaper to the edges and gave it a weathered finish.

Then I used my carbon transfer technique and painted the words on the sign. You DO NOT need a fancy machine to cut stencils or vinyl for you to make personal signs. Just print out your words and trace onto your surface using old carbon paper-yes, they actually still sell this stuff at Office Max! I sealed it with a clear wood wax. Then I used tiny screws and tiny clips from the scrapbooking department to create a place to hold the photos.

Gramma seemed pretty excited to open this gift that will help her enjoy her grandchildren every day!

This is an inexpensive and thoughtful gift good for lots of occasions, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Birthdays, Mother's Day. How do you all incorporate your kids into gift giving?
