Valentine’s Day Tree

While we were playing with our label maker last week (check out my ORGANIZED pantry!) and trying to invent new ways to use it...because it's so awesome...we stumbled upon our little Christmas tree from our front porch decorations. I just knew I had some empty glass ornaments somewhere, so we hunted around to find them and created this fun little Valentine's Day Tree!

I used our label maker, the empty ornaments, and a bag of metallic red shreds from Dollar Tree. I hopped on my phone to get some inspiration from our favorite Valentine's treats, the candy hearts!

I found sayings that I liked and were kid appropriate and got to work printing off my labels. Then I stuffed a little bit of the shreds into each ornament using a pencil eraser to help.

I stuck the labels onto each ornament and got my clear fishing line to tie the ornaments onto the tree.

Every dumb time I work with these glass ornaments there is some type of disaster. No matter how careful I try to be, something gets broken. This thin glass is a devil to try and clean up when it shatters EVERYWHERE into a million little pieces!

Luckily, no more catastrophes and our little tree got decorated so cute!

Maybe I need to keep this little tree out all year and just make different ornaments for every holiday and season. I know the kids would love it!

I should probably hit the craft store for the last of the clearance Christmas supplies. I may find a few boxes of these at 70% off.

Do you do much Valentine's decorating? We do minimal stuff because after Christmas it just feels nice to be clutter free and have our home back!
