Laura Ashley Spring/Summer 2015 press show

Last Thursday I spent the afternoon at the Laura Ashley Spring Summer 2015 press show at their Headquarters in London. Laura Ashley had transformed their show room into a beautiful spring time wonderland with dozens and dozens of pretty printed birds made out of their wallpaper hanging from the ceiling.

Upon entering I was delighted by the outdoor themed showroom. It was full of fab coloured garden accessories including the range of fun garden games like the bright candy colored croquet and skittles set. For the quintessential English picnic they had a brightly coloured woven picnic basket and fun ice lolly printed chair, matt, cooler and food storage containers. To decorate your outdoor space there were pretty pastel lanterns, bird baths and butterfly wind chimes.

To give your garden furniture or shed an overhaul they have extended their Garden Paint range to include some pretty pastel shades like the fruity Pale Apple and Pale Amethyst.

Talking of paint they are also bringing out a brand new Furniture Paint available in 10 signature Laura Ashley colourways that will help transform any old wooden furniture or primed metal furniture. Another fab new DIY product is the Decorative Paint Rollers featuring three of our their most popular prints, Aviary Garden, Salcombe and Bella Butterfly. You just simply dip the roller in paint and roll your very own hand-painted design wherever takes your fancy. Oh! the possibilities are endless...

I digress, in the main showroom they had four distinct trends.

Palm House
A bright tropical story including leaf prints, orchids and hummingbird motifs in a colour palette of topaz, apple and fuschia. Pieces included velvet bolster pillows, brightly coloured blankets and bird cage inspired lamps. My favourite print was the watercolour Francesca orchid that had been splashed across wallpaper, fabrics, candles, make-up bags and more.

Natural Glamour
A vintage romantic French inspired story including the iconic Josette print and sumptuous velvet in a colour palette of lavender, lilac and amethyst with seaspray accents.

Casual Country
A relaxed laid back heritage inspired story including checks, bluebirds and a re-coloured version of their popular Pussy Willow print in a colour palette of soothing blues, seaspray, hyacinth and cornflower. I was especially loving the swallow tealight holders and ceramic milk churn vase.

Simplicity
A contemporary Scandinavian inspired story including stripes, leaf and tulip prints in a colour palette of cream, grey and duck egg blue. I fell in love with the mini Covent Garden alarm clock and tulip tealights.

In the lighting section I fell in love with the Clayton Utility light in Duck egg, the glass based lamps that I would love to fill with decorative objects and the brand new range of design led filament bulbs.

What's your favourite trend for Spring Summer 2015?
