Top 10 Instagram Spots Of New York

It may sound little bit strange but before I arrive to a new city, I always google it’s most famous instagram spots. Honestly, I don’t want to leave any city without taking 1-2 great photos and some spots just give you “the perfect picture” regardless of other factors.

So I decided to start new series called “Top 10 Instagram Spots of ….”. Every week I plan to explore with you top instagram spots of world’s most visited cities. I hope to share with you my favorites, internet favorites and inspire you to take lots of great pictures.

This week I start with New York which provides endless opportunities to photography lovers. Here are top 10 instagram spots of new York

1-) DUMBO MANHATTAN BRIDGE VIEW

Washington Street of Dumbo is probably the most favorable spots of the photographers. Nothing screams NYC more than the view of Iconic bridge combined with classical brick buildings of NYC. If the weather is good, you can even get a glimpse of Empire State Building behind the bridge.

2-) CENTRAL PARK TUNNEL

Have you ever seen the movie Home Alone 2 ? If you have , you know where I’m talking about. When you are passing through the tunnel and facing yourself to downtown, caption looks like you are passing to an alternative universe. Beautiful nature of Central Park decorates the iconic NYC buildings and gives you “the perfect” shot.

3-)COOPER HEWITT MUSEUM

Located in the upper east side, this design museum offers you the most innovative and creative views artwork. Wherever you point your camera, you will be able to find something very interesting to shot.

4-) WORLD TRADE CENTER PATH STATION (OCULUS)

The most expensive train station (4 Billion Dollar worth) in the world looks like a white bird flying through skyscrapers of Manhattan. Whether you are taking its picture from outside or inside, images you get will be futuristic and purely beautiful.

5-) BROOKLYN BRIDGE

This one is bit obvious right ? Your visit to NYC wouldn’t be complete without snapping few shots at Brooklyn Bridge. But as someone who behaved like crazy tourist and took pictures for hours, I can give you some useful tips.

Don’t waste your time with selfie, it wont look good anyways. Either take panoramic views or if you want to be in picture ask someone to take toe to head angled picture of you when walking in the middle of the bridge.

6-) FLATIRON BUILDING

Flatiron Building is another classic photo hotspot in New York. Its unique triangular shape makes it one of the most iconic buildings ever. But it is often packed with tourists and sometimes it is impossible to get a good shot.

To avoid the big crowds and add more depth to the picture , your best bet is to go to Madison Square Park which is located to the east of plaza area and take pictures of the Flatiron Building from there.

7-) ROOFTOP OF THE MET MUSEUM

In New York, every tourist prefer climbing to big buildings like Empire State or Rockefeller Center to spot best views of the city. But instead visiting rooftop garden of the Met Museum is much more convenient because 1- Its free, 2-It combines view of central park and NYC Skyline, 3-You can get cocktails.

STONE STREET

Stone Street is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Manhattan which feels like time traveling and gives you that old NYC feeling. Plus its now packed with restaurants and decorated with twinkling lights. You can either go there early in the morning and take beautiful pictures of cobblestone street or you can go there in daytime to shot pictures of busy crowd with awesome background.

9-)HAMILTON PARK IN WEEHAWKEN

Hamilton Park, Weehawken, New Jersey

Because many of the NYC Wallpaper pictures are taken from this exact spot. So to take best pictures of Island of Manhattan, you actually have to go to New Jersey

10-)BETHESDA TERRACE CENTRAL PARK

Bethesda Terrace is located around 72 street and offers one of the best views in central park. It is consisted of upper and lower terrace which is connected by iconic stairs.And most importantly everything is made out of sandstone and granite. From lower terrace you can also spot famous Bethesda Fountain which is occasional guest star of many movies and TV series.
