Introducing My New Dark Grey Office , aka “The Summer House”

After moving our furniture and rooms around for weeks on end for the roof replacement and window installation, we discovered a new layout for our home that works much better for us. Initially, we stumbled upon this new idea when I had to put my desk in the living room and the kids kept telling me how much they loved having my desk close to the family room. When we had the top floor back we brought the sofa & television upstairs and created a new family room where we can now all have a place to sit (we were super cramped downstairs and didn’t have space for more chairs).

We also created a larger desk space where the boys like to come and play on their computer while I play around on pinterest or check e-mails. They won’t always want to be right next to mom, but until that day comes we are going to be enjoying this space, which the boys call, “The Summer House” because it feels like a retreat to them. (How sweet is that?)

I am definitely not finished with the decor in these rooms but have plunged head long into a new style and created a dark grey office. (I’ll be updating the white tables soon to something darker and making some art work decisions.)
