Spring Mom Uniform :: Should We Wear The Same Thing Every Day?

Spring seems to have finally arrived here in Denmark, not just in name, but by weather as well. That is pretty exciting stuff if you ask me and I’ve been digging out the lighter jackets, sandals, and even shorts in preparation of the warmer weather. In the midst of all the excitement, though, I have found myself changing my clothes ten times before I go somewhere and feeling like nothing works. While I normally am an advocate of getting dressed and believe it to be one of life’s greatest gifts, I’ve been wondering lately if a mom uniform might be helpful.

This article about Real Men Wearing a Uniform has been floating around the internet for a while, but this article about Harpers Bazaar’s Art Director, Matilda Kahl, is very interesting as well because she decided to do the very same thing.

I have already found myself falling into my Spring Mom Uniform, perhaps in some vain hope of self preservation. I don’t wear the same thing every day but have found more of a formula that I know will work and I can just grab and go. This has all left me wondering if some of you do the same thing? It sure makes mornings a lot less hectic when everyone has to be out the door before 8!

My Mom Uniform includes these interchangeable essentials (especially helpful when something is in the laundry bin) ::

a few favorite t-shirts: This white One, This Stripe One, and a couple v-neck t’s

a couple pairs of jeans: Skinny, Boyfriend, and Dressy

A favorite heel (or a similar flat), and A Couple Pairs of Sneakers, including these and these.

A Trench Coat (Luxury or Budget Friendly) or black blazer:

And A Great Bag, of course! Small (For When I am alone) and Large (For when I have the kids or the camera with me)
