fall remix / outfit 4

We made it! Friday, hello!

Remember this post about my friend Anuschka and her upcoming book, The Curated Closet? Well it’s officially out now! It’ll inspire you to take on all kinds of closet projects, so if that sounds fun this weekend, you can grab your copy here.

Okay, outfit time.

Styling notes:

Tie your button down at the waist / You probably remember this shirt from outfit one, but in this outfit, I styled it in a much more feminine way — to me it gives off a totally different vibe now. I gave my shirt a more tailored, feminine feel by tying it at the waist, creating a more fitted, cropped silhouette for this usually boxy shirt.

Roll your sleeves / An easy roll of the cuff creates a cap-sleeve effect, furthering the feminine vibe.

Add a floppy hat / I added this hat because I liked the way the it took the feminine vibe even further. How many times can I say feminine vibe in this post?

Balance femininity with masculinity in your outfit / While most of today’s styling notes are about adding femininity to an outfit, the black jeans temper it with a just a bit of edge, plus the stripes give a nod to classic menswear.

So, how’s your remix going? I’d love to hear what you’re learning from it — what’s your main takeaway so far? Have you read The Curated Closet yet?

Tomorrow I’ve got a double feature post for you, with not one, but two outfits. So, see you tomorrow for outfits five six!
